We have raised almost half our our stated goal to "fix the roof" - Thank-you to everyone and lets keep the energy going!
The primary goal of this committee is to enable the members and adherents of St. Stephen United church to raise enough money to pay for the repair to the flat roof of the Church Hall. While this objective is being met, the secondary and longer term goal of achieving a faith community that is able to sustain itself financially as well as spiritually will also be pursued.
The Financial Advisory Committee is foremost a facilitator. The committee will study other successful faith communities looking for ideas. Through discussion of proven ideas and generation of new ideas, we will identify potential projects, actions and initiatives that will result in one or more of these areas: reduced costs, increased membership of the church, and increased revenues. We will also identify possible leaders and supporters of these projects, actions and initiatives and invite them to participate.
As the projects develop and proceed, we will facilitate the activities by providing an appropriate level of support to the organizers.
To date, several initiatives have raised over $10K from many new social events held at the Church and not to forget the home baked goodies of Irene, who has graciously donated baked goods to be enjoyed at refreshment time after Church Service for a small donation.
